- Callum27. januar 2026⭐⭐½ – Angie’s Cure – A solid idea that struggles to stay with you. This one never really held my attention, which is probably the most honest place to start. That said, the story itself is actually fairly strong — at least in outline. It’s built around a long-running arc, following a girl over many years as circumstances harden her and eventually push her toward revenge when the system that should have protected her simply doesn’t. That premise has weight. The idea of delayed justice, of anger fermenting over time because the police and institutions fail to act, gives the film a moral backbone that’s easy to respect. On paper, it’s the kind of story that should really land. In practice, though, it never quite grabs hold. The pacing feels uneven, and the emotional pull is softer than it needs to be for a narrative this grim. You understand why the character ends up where she does, but the film doesn’t always make you feel it as strongly as it should. As a result, engagement comes and goes instead of building steadily. It’s not bad, and it’s not empty. It just sits in that awkward middle ground where you recognise the quality of the idea more than you remember the experience of watching it. Competent, meaningful in intent, but ultimately a bit forgettable. 🍷 A glass of red you didn’t quite finish — decent enough, but it never demanded your full attention.
