I love Clint Eastwood films but this movie was just straight up propaganda. Everything about it is a fabrication. Chris Kyle's claims in his book have been disproven with him even losing a defamation case in court. The fact that this movies mission is to get the viewer to sympathize for this guy is pretty wild. Chris Kyle was not a good man. Supporting the military doesnt mean worshiping shitty people who boast about murdering people. Just know that even though Chris Kyle is no longer with us, he's looking up at all of us. The biggest favor they did for that unwell honky was who they cast to play him. He WISHES he looked like Bradley Cooper. He looks more like Diet Stone Cold and coincidentally, they both became famous faking it. Using his lie filled story as fantasy material for americans overfed on fast food who have never served but call themselves patriots unironically was a choice.... This is a movie for the kind of ppl who stormed the capitol

Watching American Sniper hit me like a freight train—emotionally raw, brutally honest, and deeply unsettling. Bradley Cooper absolutely disappears into the role of Chris Kyle, and Clint Eastwood’s direction doesn’t sugarcoat the toll of war; it just lays it bare. I didn’t walk out of the theater feeling entertained—I walked out feeling changed. The film doesn’t preach or politicize, which I respect, but it does make you sit with the weight of what service and sacrifice really mean. Sure, there are flaws—the pacing dips in parts and the infamous fake baby scene is hard to ignore—but the emotional punch and authenticity override those. Based on my own experience, I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5. It’s not perfect, but it’s powerful, and it earns every bit of that rating

Shines a light on the American soldier experience. The morality, determination and struggle readapting. Modern war epic.

I'm on the fence with this movie somewhat, my initial thought was the propaganda USA is GREAT Chris Kyle is GREAT is too much for anyone outside of the USA. I can see the point to telling the Chris Kyle story but this felt very one sided which I guess most historical biographical movies are. I did enjoy the attention to detail with gun safety protocols being used, the only other I've seen where this is taken into account is Terminal List and some of the Taylor Sheridan stuff. Overall it think the best point this made was understanding some of how PTSD can show up. How USA took for granted they could commander and conquer with ease, the arrogance.

One of Clint Eastwood's best directorial efforts. Bradley Cooper was fantastic, as was the entire supporting cast.

What an awesome movie to watch to see all the history that went along with this one man's life and journey. This is a very emotional movie.

It's average. Cooper's acting is great but the film is kind of odd. And the fake baby still cracks me up 🤣

I like Eastwood better as an actor than a director, but this is quite a great film about war, trauma and the PTSD that veterans deal with - both subtle and jarring. Bradley Cooper does a great job of being a war vet who's seen it all and made the tough calls, and the way he handles his returns to home are genuinely rough to watch.

Great movie * correctection to the movie * The most KNOWN confirmed kills by 1 man was a WW2 Sniper I say known because the bow and arrow was a insane invention over the tribes/nations that didnt have it, when it was invented in a new area,or brought a area where the other tribes/nation/poeople had no idea what it even was, those people that had learned the bow and arrow, those individuals had a lot of kills as well

It's intense with an amazing Bradley Cooper performance, and this dark depiction of the Iraqi War all works in one amazing, meaningful way.

The pictures shown during the credits are the most emotional part of the movie. It had potential for a moving story about a real person, but instead, it just touches on the edges.
