- TV watcherMarch 1, 2026Basically if not better than the first American Pie, only thing I wish for is more Heather scenes
- JakeysDecember 24, 2025Definitely not at the level of the first, but still great to see the characters again.
- CallumDecember 21, 2025⭐⭐⭐ – American Pie 2 — Same Friends, Softer Spark If you liked the first American Pie, this sequel will feel immediately familiar. The classic Jim mishaps are back, Stifler is very much still Stifler (along with his mum), and the summer lake house is straight out of adolescent fantasy. It’s clearly living off the goodwill of the original — and it knows it. That said, there are still some genuinely funny moments here. A few one-liners land well, and some of the physical comedy sticks in the memory — even echoing years later in other pop culture moments (hospital mishaps involving glue here, robot arms elsewhere). The humour is broader, but it hasn’t completely lost its edge. What American Pie 2 does particularly well is leaning into the friendships. Watching Jim, Kevin, Oz, Finch, and Stifler reconnect feels natural, like catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in a while. Their chemistry remains the heart of the film, and in quieter moments you can see why this group worked so well in the first place. It’s chaotic, crude, and occasionally — almost unexpectedly — touching. Unfortunately, it never quite recaptures the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of the original. The jokes are a little less sharp, the story a little more meandering, and the sense of novelty is gone. It’s enjoyable, but it doesn’t have the same cultural punch or lasting impact. A decent follow-up that delivers familiarity rather than surprise — worth a watch if you’re already invested, but clearly a step down. 🍺 Pairing: A lukewarm beer by the lake — still enjoyable in the right company, just not as refreshing as the first one.
- Joe CavaNovember 19, 2025It’s funny and what comedy should be!
- thomasrogers753September 14, 2025Still not worth the 5 lines by Casey Affleck At least he got a credit this time though
- 94kyleJuly 3, 2025Such a good movie! This was my favorite of all the American pies. In order for me it goes pie 2, 1, 3, 4. Great soundtrack and it makes me think of summer time as a teenager and young adult!
- mickerdooJune 22, 2025If you like the first one this one rings true. Classic Jim mixups, Stifler, his mother and a summer lake house from your dreams.
