Ben (18) has graduated from school with flying colors, and Sylvia (34) has every reason to be proud of him. Of her son and of herself. After all, she raised Ben all by herself, and today he is a completely successful boy. Ben knows only so much about his conception as that he is a child of pure love. He likes the romantic story about their Interrail acquaintance, a love affair for just one day, and that's precisely why it's so great. Ben never knew his father, so he doesn't miss him. Sylvia is both his mother and his closest confidante. But this trust threatens to shatter when Sylvia's past catches up with Ben, and Ben learns that he is, in fact, the product of a rape. Suddenly, everything seems to be called into question: the relationship between mother and son, the past, and, for Ben, not least his self-image. For as much as Sylvia insists on being the sole master of her past and history, Ben must find his own.
