⭐⭐⭐ – AIMEE: The Visitor — When Intelligence Outpaces Wisdom AIMEE: The Visitor feels like a classic sci-fi thought experiment rather than a fully fleshed-out film, and that’s both its strength and its limitation. I don’t remember much beyond the core idea — artificial intelligence going wrong — but honestly, that’s kind of the point. The concept is far more memorable than any individual scene. This is very much a “what if?” movie. What if an AI designed to help, observe, or integrate instead misunderstands us? What if logic replaces empathy, or curiosity turns invasive? The film toys with those questions in a restrained, low-key way, without turning into full-blown spectacle or techno-panic. It doesn’t scream its warnings; it quietly suggests them and lets you sit with the discomfort. That said, it never quite pushes far enough to become genuinely unsettling or profound. The execution is serviceable rather than striking, and while the ideas are interesting, they’re not explored with the depth needed to elevate the film into something truly memorable. It’s the sort of movie you finish, nod at thoughtfully, and then slowly let fade from your mind — unless the topic itself already fascinates you. Overall, it’s a decent watch for sci-fi fans who enjoy speculative ideas about AI and humanity’s blind spots. It won’t blow your mind, but it might spark a conversation — and sometimes that’s enough. ☕ Pairing: A black coffee gone slightly cold — functional, a little bitter, and best appreciated for what it represents rather than how much you enjoy every sip.
