Accident Man
Directed by Jesse V. Johnson- Patrick WaiApril 9, 2026There’s something oddly refreshing about an action movie centered on a hitman who is not secretly noble, not misunderstood, and not especially likable — just a smug, efficient murderer with a talent for making death look accidental. Once the plot pivots into revenge for his ex-girlfriend, the movie turns into a violent, cheeky assassin bloodbath that knows exactly what it is and wisely never reaches for fake depth. Scott Adkins is right in his wheelhouse here: great fight scenes, dry humor, and enough charisma to keep a sleazy lead watchable without pretending he’s a hero. The supporting cast is a lot of fun, the action is slick without getting completely ridiculous, and the whole thing has a nasty little comic-book streak that keeps it moving. It’s trashy, stylish, funny, and much smarter than a movie about a professional “accident” killer has any right to be.
