- Jordan Jones27 december 2025This Movie had the potential to be a great Stephen King Film, because the 1st half of the Movie gives us really good suspense and build up, also what I really liked was the randomness of how Darcy finds her husband's trophies of his victims, all because she needed new batteries for her remote that's realistic and then quickly discovers and realises by accident that her husband is a serial killer, somebody in real life could find things there not supposed to in that way and I really liked how they done that part of the Film. I also liked the fact that they didn't show Beadie kill his victims it's left to our imagination, less is more as they say and it's a lot more effective that way. The final thing I liked about it was the chemistry that Joan Allen and Anthony Lapalgia have, they really work well together and tbh it's the Acting from both of them, that carries the Movie. Now onto everything I really didn't like and was very disappointed with, first of all the 2nd half of this Movie took a really big drop in comparison to the 1st half and most importantly I was very disappointed with how it all wrapped up, it really felt anticlimactic, all of the suspense and everything that was interesting about the Film in the 1st half had completely gone in the 2nd half, there was no actual struggle when Darcy kills Bob/Beadie she just pushes him over the bannister and then strangles him with his tie after, not gripping whatsoever and after that she just quickly moves on and acts like nothings happened, no trauma no emotional struggle oh no inner turmoil into hiding the fact that her husband she was married to after all these years was a serial killer, even Joan Allens acting as great as she was does also take a bit of a drop in the 2nd half, but she does her best and did everything she could with what she was given to try and elevate things, but it just doesn't work not her fault it's just how she was directed and on top of that, the son and daughter don't even seem to properly grieve over their father and remember they never find out the monster that their father was, they don't seem that bothered he's dead oh don't seem shocked in any kind of way, the acting from them was terrible and very unrealistic. Ultimately the Movie just ends on a very uneventful and weak note, overall it's just a big disappointment and nowhere near Stephen Kings Best Movie Adaptations Unfortunately in my Opinion.
- Robert Montes9 augusti 2025It's simple so much so it kinda boring. Nothing like the trailer or even the description. It's not terrible, just not a good thriller movie from Stephen King.
