In 1978, filmmaker George Lucas is persuaded to turn over Star Wars to the world of the '70s variety hour, culminating in The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), often cited as one of the worst forms of entertainment of all time.

Shout out to the team behind this edit. Culling the plot points that went nowhere, boring story arcs, bloat from poor writing choices makes this condensed version of the prequels a must watch. It felt a bit too trimmed in one regard, establishing shots. The fear of making the movie run too long I feel lead them to skipping the starwars tradition of establishing shots for planet or location changes, and this cut was very light on them, i feel too much. Adding back in those shots would have added a few minuets to the run time at most, but would have helped it to feel less rushed. That's the only gripe, and a minor one. 4.9/5
