A Dark Song Ratings & Reviews
- eif999January 26, 2025A hard film to love especially since one of the two people in the film is downright unlikeable. I liked the strong beginning but it lead to some muddy stuff at the end. Strange, interesting but ultimately hard to like due to the guy I wanted to punch the whole film.
- Mike GJune 18, 2025Absolutely outstanding.
- FenrisfilOctober 4, 2025The best occult horror since The Devil Rides Out. What is perhaps most fascinating is the accuracy of the rituals. They really researched the kind of things the Golden Dawn and Alistair Crowley would have gotten up to and it gives a feeling of realism to the story, making it feel all the more unsettling. The other impressive thing is the character journey of the protagonist. Very well done. But this is a slow burn, atmospheric horror. Not everyone will appreciate it.
- jakierhodes358September 5, 2025Very good movie as far as storyline. The ending made sense and it's worth watching just for the suspense. I did expect more in the direction of bloody horror, but that's just because I'm American raised in gore.
- UniqueMovies Deb HAugust 26, 2025A battle between good and evil ✨👻✨ A mix of black magic and Christianity ✨🎃✨ A slow burn movie but definitely worth the watch, it gets pretty scary, especially at the end, and a big surprise appears when Michael the archangel saves everything 🪽😇🪽
- Andy Davidson | folknhell.comAugust 18, 2025An immensely powerful depiction of grief and the decisions people take to find closure. A sense of impending disaster grows as Sophia embarks on a dangerous journey towards revenge. The closing scenes are staggeringly realised. A slow-burning descent into madness.
- marshalseaMarch 6, 2025This is a difficult watch, but worth it. If youve seen Oram in nice mode his performance here as an utterly unlikeable scumbag is award winning, genuinely fantastic performance. You're not meant to like him, he's unlikeable, he knows it himself. He's an abusive parasite on a woman lost in grief, played again brilliantly by Walker. Definitely stick with it the pacing is a little off, but the tension is a slow build up to a fantastic pay off. Theres a genuine story here, please stick with it. Why Liams not been given another wad of cash is beyond me.
- GAugust 7, 2025Looks like it's about Magick, but it's really about grief, but it's really about forgiveness. It actually means a lot to me.
- Johan PotgieterJune 7, 2025The ending was unexpected and surprising. Getting there was at times a bit boring and a slow burn. I generally like a bit more action in my movies.
- Ummm NOFebruary 7, 2025Kind of boring, both of the main characters are somewhat unlikable and the main character makes seeming ranfom choices
- NiztradamusAugust 10, 2025Really good horror flick! It's a more realistic take on incantations. The last few minutes bump it down from a four star rating for me, because I think they could have done sooo much more and better with the last couple of scenes but this is a movie that made even me, as a hardened horror fan slightly jump at one particular spot. That hasn't happend to me in well over a decade. It's slow... You need to understand that going in. Don't expect a The Conjouring type movie that goes from one scare to the next but the atmosphere is outstanding.
- andrewturner11August 12, 2025Slow burn that pays off... Very good
