3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up Ratings & Reviews
- BrickShitHouse1 september 2025Not as good as the first three movies but def worth a watch.
- Callum5 november 2025⭐⭐⭐ – 3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up – Familiar Moves, Faded Magic 3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up brings back the brothers Rocky, Colt, and Tum Tum for another round of high-energy martial-arts mayhem — but this time, the kicks don’t quite land with the same force. The heart and spirit of the original are still there, yet the spark feels a little dimmer, like a well-worn gi that’s been through one too many tournaments. The film sticks close to the formula that made the first 3 Ninjas such a childhood favourite: mischievous kids taking on grown-up villains, blending slapstick humour with the occasional solid roundhouse. Only now, the novelty has worn off. We’ve seen these brothers outsmart crooks before, and while it’s still fun watching them dart between punches and pratfalls, the pacing is slower, the fights are tamer, and the story feels stitched together from leftover ideas. Victor Wong Chi-Keung once again grounds the chaos as Grandpa — wise, patient, and always ready to remind the boys (and us) that strength without honour means nothing. His presence is what keeps the film from drifting too far into Saturday-morning silliness. For kids of the era, it’s another nostalgic comfort; for adults revisiting it, it’s a softer echo of the first. Ultimately, Knuckle Up is more of the same — and sometimes that’s enough. It won’t rekindle the fire of the original, but it’s still a friendly throwback to a simpler time when every kid wanted a ninja mask, a backyard dojo, and a reason to yell “hi-ya!” at the neighbours. 🥋 Pairing: A can of lemon-lime soda — fizzy and familiar, a little flatter than the first sip, but still sweet enough to make you smile.
