Directed by Awtar Krishna KaulSanjay wanted to pursue art, but his father forced him into a career as a train conductor. Unhappy, he meets and falls in love with Shalini but is pressured into an arranged marriage when his father comes to find out. Feeling trapped, he turns to drinking and brothels, until he gets one final chance to escape with Shalini and start his life anew.
