First broadcast in 1977, each edition ran for half an hour. The narrator was David Attenborough. When repeated on BBC2, the programmes were retitled Wildlife on Two. The series came to an end in 2005.

The Immortal SalamanderDavid Attenborough narrates a look at the salamander, a survivor from the age of the dinosaur. From the Appalachian mountains to the rainforests of Costa Rica, poisons and love potions are the secrets of success. The amphibians' courtship is a slow seduction which culminates in a mass orgy, as ten thousand salamanders do what nature intended in one night of passion.
