- Homeless Man with a Golden Voice Gets a Job
第2話Homeless Man with a Golden Voice Gets a JobIn which Hank discusses the homeless man with the Golden Voice, the fact that he's not doing song wednesdays, the new dftba, com, runs around in the snow, instructs John in proper HEADDESKing and discovers that, at least in some circumstances Bing IS better than Google. - Top Six Conjoined Twin Pairs in History
第5話Top Six Conjoined Twin Pairs in HistoryIn which John creates a list of the six most important conjoined twin pairs in history (in his humble experience) while also discussing his massive zit. Twins discussed include Chang and Eng Bunker, Millie and Christine McCoy, Lori and George Schapell, Giacomo and Giovanni Tocci, and the Biddenden Maids. - Top 5 Actual Conspiracies
第6話Top 5 Actual ConspiraciesYes, it seems like the word "conspiracy" is always paired with the word "theory" but, in fact, there are quite a few actual conspiracies with implications that can boggle the mind. Does the U.S. Government kill people for scientific research? Sometimes. Did George Bush's Grandfather help try to install a fascist dictatorship in America? Yup. Did scientology orchestrate the largest ever infiltration of the U.S. government, you betcha! - Cheating Cheaters of Cheatery: The Amazing Story of Brazil's Cotton War with the U.S.
第7話Cheating Cheaters of Cheatery: The Amazing Story of Brazil's Cotton War with the U.S.In which John Green discusses the insane story of how the United States of America ended up subsidizing the cotton industry in Brazil so that America could continue its own illegal subsidies of its cotton farmers. This year and every year until we end our illegal cotton subsidies, the U.S. federal government will pay $147 million of American tax dollars to Brazilian cotton farmers to make up for our illegal subsidies, which amount to more than $3 billion most years. There's no question that American cotton subsidies create jobs, but there's ample evidence that the same $3 billion could be used to create MORE jobs, either through more efficient direct government stimulus or through just not spending that $3 billion and allowing private industry to create jobs with that 3 billion in capital. This is (one of the reasons) why economists generally hate industry-specific subsidies. - YOU ARE WRONG!
第8話YOU ARE WRONG!We are almost always wrong, maybe not all the way wrong, but at least a little bit. Even the simplest questions have vast complexities built into them, and understanding that we never fully understand things leads to a much healthier and more effective relationship with the world. - Looking for Alaska Five Years After the Printz Award
第9話Looking for Alaska Five Years After the Printz AwardIn which John discusses, exactly five years after winning the Michael L. Printz Award for Looking for Alaska, the complex series of collaborations involved in creating a book. By the way, I don't know if anyone actually reads the dooblydoo, but more than five years after "Looking for Alaska" was published, it had its bestselling week EVER two weeks ago. I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate you reading "Alaska" and sharing it with your friends. You are...I'm just going to say it...better than pizza. Thanks. - The 1200% Increase in my Prescription Drug Costs
第10話The 1200% Increase in my Prescription Drug CostsIn which Hank is pissed off because the price of his prescription drugs went up 1200% in one month. So he asks nerdfighteria to write a nice letter to Roger Boissonneault at rboissonneault@wcrx.com. If you could ask him why the price went up so much, why the program expired four months early, and why no effort was made to contact my doctor about these dramatic changes, that would be fantastic. Also, whatever else you want to say. I feel a little bit like this was a heroin deal "first time's free" kind of thing. Apparently, drug companies have the same marketing strategies as drug dealers...nice to know they're in such good company. - Revolution in Egypt: A 4-Minute Introduction
第13話Revolution in Egypt: A 4-Minute IntroductionIn which John discusses the Egyptian protests, which may become a burgeoning revolution in Egypt or may just descend into rioting and looting. Included in the discussion are Egypt's dictator and/or president Hosni Mubarak, the Tunisian protests, the fight for representative democracy, the presence of the Egyptian army, and so on. - Top 5 Awesome Things About the Webb Telescope
第14話Top 5 Awesome Things About the Webb TelescopeThe James Webb Space Telescope is the successor to the Hubble's throne. In order to pick up extremely faint infra-red signals from extremely distant stars and galaxies, the JWST has to be extremely cold. Any noise from the IR radiation of the Sun or Earth would make it impossible to see as far into the past as scientists want to. Thus, the JWST has to be a million miles from the earth, protected by a six-layer heat shield as big as a tennis court. This will allow the Webb Telescope to peer into the deepest reaches of space, through clouds of dust into stellar nurseries and back in time 13.4 billion years. Not only will we get the most detailed views of our universe ever, but the JWST will provide insights into how solar systems, galaxies, stars and even the Universe were formed. - This Video Brought to you by Nyquil
第20話This Video Brought to you by NyquilA Vlogbrothers first...BED VLOG!!! Well...there was that time John vlogged from a hospital bed actually. We're pretty hardcore about this. I will be playing shows in Seattle and Portland with Paul and Storm and Mike Phirman, (who are absolutely hilarious musical comedians.) Sorry I seem to only do west coast stuff...just just so much CLOSER! The shows are $20. - WE ARE 812 YEARS OLD
第23話WE ARE 812 YEARS OLDIn which John attempts to carbon neutralize brotherhood 2.0 for the first time in three and a half years, leading to a discussion of the complexity of carbon neutrality in a world where almost every action grows your carbon footprint and creates air pollution. - Harry Baals & Dick Trickle: The Funniest Names in History
第25話Harry Baals & Dick Trickle: The Funniest Names in HistoryIn which John discusses the funniest and most unfortunate names in history, including race car driver Dick Trickle, philanthropist Ima Hogg, composer Chris P. Bacon, singer Shanda Lear, former Fort Wayne mayor Harry Baals, and inventor Hymen Lipman. - Thoughts from Places: Los Angeles after the Earthquake
第31話Thoughts from Places: Los Angeles after the EarthquakeIn which John Green walks and drives around Los Angeles in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Japan. He visits the beach, the Venice canals, some pet turtles, and goes to a fancy wedding reception in Beverly Hills. - Why Did Fukushima Explode?
第32話Why Did Fukushima Explode? In which Hank explains nuclear power and the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in Japan. In short, fission products continually decaying in both active and spent fuel rods create enough heat to melt themselves. The coolant systems that would prevent this from happening were disabled by the tsunami. Cracks in the fuel rods created an environment allowing hydrogen to form, which concentrated and then exploded several times destroying both the primary and secondary containment structures at at least one reactor. The result is that the reactor needs to remain cooled or else radiation from the meltdown will be released to the environment in significant quantities. The people working to keep the reactor from overheating are risking their lives to do so, and we all hope they will be able to stabilize the reactor without harm. - Participatory Geometry
第37話Participatory GeometryIn which John discusses the Butler Bulldogs astonishing second consecutive run to the NCAA Men's basketball Final Four while also discussing a bunch of other things, including his books and why sports matter even though they are essentially kind of silly. - The Ice Cream Changes
第38話The Ice Cream ChangesSlipknot to Ritchie Valenz, for some reason the I vi IV V chord progression just sounds amazing. I don't know why certain combinations of tones sound nice to us, nor why progressing through those tone combinations in certain ways are universally pleasant, but I am glad of it. This video has no cuts, which was a moonpasta challenge that I silently accepted. But you should feel free to continue challenging me to do things, I like that. I discovered this and all of the songs in it on my own through what I already knew or searches on the internet except for the Slipknot use of the Ice Cream Changes, which I discovered via an awesome mashup (linked below) that, yes, I found on Reddit. But I was already working on the video when I found that...it just added another layer of awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out to see the Nerds and Music show...it was amazing. - Is My Boyfriend Gay? Is He Cheating?
第44話Is My Boyfriend Gay? Is He Cheating? In which John answers the top 10 questions people ask google beginning "Is my b...," including: Is my boyfriend gay? Is my boyfriend cheating on me? Is my blood pressure high? Is my baby sick? Is my baby teething? Is my baby a boy or a girl? And most gallingly, is my baby sleeping too much. - NASA: Increasing Awesome
第51話NASA: Increasing AwesomeIn which Hank talks about the 0.45% of the federal budget devoted to space education, and what NASA is doing with that money. In which Hank talks about the 0.45% of the federal budget devoted to space education, and what NASA is doing with that money. - IT'S HANKO DE MAYO!!
第54話IT'S HANKO DE MAYO!!In which John talks about Hanko de Mayo 2011 (Hank Green's 31st birthday), and his astoundingly productive 30th year, which included creating VidCon, 2-d glasses, publishing EcoGeek, co-running DFTBA Records, Truth or Fail, the Project for Awesome, traveling to Haiti, and so much more. Thanks, Hank, for all the awesome you bring into our lives! - Trading Underwear for Rice Crispy Treats: Queens Day in Amsterdam (Thoughts from Places)
第56話Trading Underwear for Rice Crispy Treats: Queens Day in Amsterdam (Thoughts from Places)In which John takes the thoughts from places video series back to Amsterdam for the massive party / garage sale / birthday celebration known here in the Netherlands as koninginnedag. - 1990's Sim Games. SO GOOD!
第57話1990's Sim Games. SO GOOD!In which Hank talks about the lessons he learned growing up playing simulation games (and does a very good job of not complaining about how mindless gaming has become.) Sim Games taught me a huge amount about my world and also about who I am. From SImCity I learned that as much as a third of a city is taken up by its roads. From SimEarth I learned what that crustaceans existed before fish. From SimTower I learned that things are never as simple as they seem. From Civilizaiton I learned that peace is orders of magnitude more difficult and less glamorous than war. From Tycoon games I learned the value of opportunity and also how to be careful not to squander the value you have. It seems a little silly, but there it is. You can get a lot of these games for free (all you need is DOS BOX and a good google search if you'd like to try them out. - Winkels to the Left, Winkels to the Right: Thoughts from Places, Antwerp
第58話Winkels to the Left, Winkels to the Right: Thoughts from Places, AntwerpIn which John takes the slow train to Antwerp, Belgium in order to spend a day with no Internet working on the revision of his new novel (which comes out in March). During his brief time in Antwerp, he visits the zoo. - Grab It By The Testicle
第59話Grab It By The TesticleA poem for the college and high school graduates of the year 2011 (and future years as well...I believe it all applies.) Also, past years, if we can ever figure out how make YouTube videos go back in time. Also, I would like to offer this video to graduates of schools (or whatever it is they have) on other planets. So...to all of you...get ready to...KEEP LEARNING! With less structure and fewer metrics for success. - Older Than Gravity In Bruges: Thoughts from Places
第64話Older Than Gravity In Bruges: Thoughts from PlacesIn which John Green visits Bruges (or as the Belgians and Dutch call it, Brugge) for a day, seeing the famous Belfort and other beautiful buildings along the way before meeting up with Nerdfighters from all over Belgium (and Germany and France). Along the way, he thinks about living amid history and what (if anything) we owe those who have died and those who will later be born. This video is part of a series called "Thoughts from Places." - Men Running on Tanks and the Truth about Book Editors
第68話Men Running on Tanks and the Truth about Book EditorsIn which John discusses the editorial process involved in the creation of his new book (still no official title!) and also his previous books Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, and Paper Towns. He also discusses Gloria, the project currently on display at the Venice Biennale's US Pavilion featuring work by artists Allora & Calzadilla in collaboration with members of the US gymanstics and track and field teams, organized by the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It's an amazing show; if you're in Venice, check it out. - Punishments, Floods, and Pink Hitler Babies
第69話Punishments, Floods, and Pink Hitler BabiesIn which Hank vlogs from a riverbank about Hitler, Shaq, floods, rocks, ants, ice cream, sexy back, punishments, sandwiches, dolphins...I mean, you really aren't gonna get much from the description...it's a weird video. - Then I Took Off My Bra
第70話Then I Took Off My BraIn which John discusses Amsterdam, replaces curse words with the names of British romantic poets, talks about the This Star Won't Go Out foundation, asks your help in designing a great tour, and wonders if he should read the audiobook for his still untitled book. - On Religion (Redux)
第76話On Religion (Redux)In which John finished up what turned out to be Religion Theme Week here in nerdfighteria by discussing the complexity of religious identity and why we must reconcile ourselves to living in a world riddled with ambiguity. (In short, to revisit the theme of Vlogbrothers 2011: The truth resists simplicity.) - THE FAULT IN OUR STARS
第78話THE FAULT IN OUR STARSIn which John does his happy dance because his new book, The Fault in Our Stars, is #1 on Amazon and Barnes and Noble's bestseller lists thanks to the indefatigable awesome of nerdfighteria. To thank you, I'll be signing every copy of the first printing of TFiOS. Also, I give you some homework in re. The Great Gatsby. - How to Turn Your Dumb Summer Job Into $162,000
第80話How to Turn Your Dumb Summer Job Into $162,000In which John celebrates financial independence by explaining how minimum-wage summer jobs can become incredibly lucrative if only you save some of your money in a retirement account. In the US, the most common retirement accounts are called IRAs (IRAs have tax advantages), but any investment account will do. Just sock the money away in a low-fee diverse mutual fund, wait 50 years, and enjoy the magic of compound interest. - Kill the Dollar Bill!
第82話Kill the Dollar Bill!In which John discusses the denomination effect and argues that we should stop printing one-dollar bills and transition to one-dollar (and two-dollar) coins, which according to the nonpartisan GAO will save the United States government 5.5 billion dollars over the next 30 years. (Also, John discusses loving the mountain goats and hating pennies.) - Hank Talks to NASA About the Space Shuttle
第83話Hank Talks to NASA About the Space ShuttleSo the Space Shuttle program is ending after more than 30 years. I grew up in Orlando, regularly watching the shuttle take off. It had a huge effect on me. Now, with the program ending, we will need to find new ways to reach low-earth orbit, and also new ways to expand manned exploration beyond low-earth orbit and into the rest of the solar system. Well, I got to talk with Mike Massimino, the Astronaut who's always going on Conan, Bobby Braun, NASA's Chief Technologist, Lori Garver, the Deputy Administrator at NASA and...yes Charlie freaking Bolden - NASA's Administrator. Charlie Bolden's boss is...yes...Barack Obama. NASA has clearly embraced the spirit of Nerdfighteria and I can't tell you how much that means to me. Thanks to NASA for understanding how amazing this community is. And, also, thanks to Nerdfighteria, for being awesome in the first place. - Harry Freaking Potter
第85話Harry Freaking PotterSo I watched Deathly Hallows part 2, of course, yesterday, and I want t talk about it, but I have a hard time doing it without crying at least a bit. It was really amazing to see it with some of the most die-hard Harry Potter fans in the world. There was a lot of crying going on...I think I actually hyperventilated near the end, I was shaking and tingly. It was a very important moment, I'm looking forward to seeing it in a less emotionally-charged room to see if I can be a little more analytical about it. Right now, my overall feelings are "BGHAAHRGLUH" LeakyCon has been amazing, I'm about to go to a hugemongous Nerdfighter Gathering and I'm very excited. Glad I got my video up in time!! - Gatsby's American Dream: Reading The Great Gatsby Critically, Chapter 1
第86話Gatsby's American Dream: Reading The Great Gatsby Critically, Chapter 1In which John Green discusses the first chapter of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby, including thoughts on the role that the ideas of the self-made man and the American dream fuel the beginning of the novel. Themes, metaphors, and symbols are all discussed--although hopefully not in that boring and unlikable way you all find so reprehensible. - Your Yard Is EVIL
第88話Your Yard Is EVILIn which John discusses the absolute insanity of front yards. Turf grass is the biggest irrigated crop in the US; we irrigate grass almost exclusively with drinkable water; also, you will be surprised to learn that grass is INEDIBLE. Plus, I dislike mowing the lawn when it is 115 outside. Lots of people (particularly people who work in the lawn business) will note that turf grass is a carbon sink (particularly if you mow the lawn frequently). This is true, but there are far more efficient carbon sinks that don't require so much water. - I Am Not a P#$$Y - this video contains mild swear words.
第89話I Am Not a P#$$Y - this video contains mild swear words. In which Hank rants about being taunted while riding his bike (which is, btw, very unsettling) and then talks a bit about bullying and he he dealt with it (he didn't) and how you should deal with it (survive.) - 150,000 Autographs
第90話150,000 AutographsIn which John announces that thanks to the awesomeness of nerdfighteria, his book The Fault in Our Stars will be published sooner than previously thought: January 10, 2012. Also, I'll be signing every copy of the 150,000 first printing, which is gonna take a while. But thank you for your support, nerdfighters. You're made of awesome. - I Love My Brother
第91話I Love My BrotherIn which Hank puts off the inevitable but then just tears off the band-aid. No talk about VidCon...Esther day only comes once per year! Looking forward to your punishment suggestions...to those reading this, think more "challenge" and less "horrible death-defying punishment." - Understanding America's Debt Problem
第94話Understanding America's Debt ProblemIn which John discusses the U.S. public debt, our dangerously high debt to GDP ratio, the S&P's downgrade of America's credit rating, and why our debt may not be as unmanageable as it seems. There's also some general discussion of economics, currency, the gold standard, and the worldwide financial system's dependence of the American dollar. - Hank's Question Tuesday DEBUT!
第97話Hank's Question Tuesday DEBUT!In which Hank and John answer real questions from real nerdfighters. Hank's question tuesday debut! We didn't get through many questions...but it was fun...really fun. So fun that we're going to have to do an out-takes video at some point. - Outtake Insanity and NERD FACTOR
第98話Outtake Insanity and NERD FACTORIn which John shares some outtakes from Hank and John's previous reunion video and then announces Nerd Factor, an idea stolen from Michael Buckley. If you're making awesome videos you think more people should see, upload a recent one as a response to this video. We'll watch it and feature a few in a vlogbrothers video soon. - Thoughts from a Butterfly Hatch
第99話Thoughts from a Butterfly HatchIn which Hank talks about butterflies, which were hatching like crazy in the Bitterroot valley this weekend. So yeah, it was really amazing. They were constantly landing on us. They were all the way from the treetops to the path in front of us. Hundreds of thousands of Western Whites. This isn't a particularly unusual event, but we totally lucked into it. It wasn't intentional or anything. We also saw mourning cloaks and swallowtails and the really tame one that I got those RIDICULOUS close-ups of was a mystery to me so I asked twitter, and the consensus is "probably an eastern comma" but anglewings all look very similar, so we're not sure. We'd need to look at it's genitalia, probably. - Will He Kiss You? Am I a Muggle? It's Question Friday.
第101話Will He Kiss You? Am I a Muggle? It's Question Friday. In which John answers questions about The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, whether and when that boy you're dating will kiss you, his muggle nature, Scotland's national animal (which is not the bagpipe), manga, paradoxes, and many other things. - The Great Gatsby: Living the Dream in the Valley of Ashes
第105話The Great Gatsby: Living the Dream in the Valley of AshesIn which John discusses critical readings of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, including metaphors and symbols like the color yellow, the green light at the end of the dock, the eyes of Doctor TJ Eckleburg, the valley of ashes, and the American dream. - NERD FACTOR
第111話NERD FACTORIn which John announces six winners of Nerd Factor, an idea blatantly stolen from the great Michael Buckley: http://www.youtube.com/whatthebuckshow There were hundreds of great videos we wanted to include, and thanks to everyone who participated in nerd factor. I'm leaving video responses open on this video, so you can discover great stuff made by nerdfighters in the video responses. Thanks! - The Improbability of Place - Thoughts from the San Juans
第112話The Improbability of Place - Thoughts from the San JuansIn which Hank talks about how infinitely improbable we are, but how that's not actually what makes us special. Sorry for the Dr. Manhattan thing if you've not read or seen Watchmen, I felt like it was important to my point. - Awesome Bankers?
第113話Awesome Bankers? In which John discusses job creation, small businesses, how the work of bankers can actually decrease worldsuck (contrary to popular belief), and how credit crunches affect economies around the world. I also discuss the microfinance web site kiva.org, which allows all of us to make loans to entrepreneurs in the developing world. - YouTube Survey: Balls and First Kisses
第115話YouTube Survey: Balls and First KissesIn which John answers the YouTube survey of Alex Day, aka Nerimon. He also discusses secret sister Maureen Johnson's amazing new book The Name of the Star, which came out yesterday. You can get it here: http://dft.ba/-ZGF - Coming Out and Sperm Spikes
第120話Coming Out and Sperm SpikesIn which Hank talks about his personal struggles with his sexuality and confusing his gender identity with his sexual orientation...and he does it all using quantum mechanics as an analogy...but only after he tells John the most fascinating thing about traumatic insemination in bed bugs. - Defying Wadsworth!
第121話Defying Wadsworth! In which John defies the so-called Wadsworth Constant, which maintains that the first 30% of all YouTube videos can safely be skipped, by giving you Halloween pumpkin tips, some quotes from James Joyce's Ulysses, The Fault in Our Stars, his signature, and so on. - Question Wed--THE COVER OF THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!
第123話Question Wed--THE COVER OF THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!In which John answers questions about his new book The Fault in Our Stars, his publisher's surprising willingness to allow a nerdfighter to design the next cover of An Abundance of Katherines, laser-armed porcupines, pizza, archaeology, who the eff Hank is, etc. - Reading Chapter One of The Fault in Our Stars
第127話Reading Chapter One of The Fault in Our StarsIn which John reads the first chapter of his new book, The Fault in Our Stars, to you in lieu of making a real video today. I hope you like it, and that it's not too awkward hearing a 34-year-old man pretend to be 16-year-old Hazel Grace Lancaster. - IS THIS HEAVEN?
第131話IS THIS HEAVEN?In which John happy dances through town before landing in...heaven? And then announced two new exciting vlogbrothers projects, Crash Course and SciShow. At long last, nerdfighteria, we have the time and resources to make our eductational ambitions a reality. We hope you love the new channels; vlogbrothers will be the same as always. - The Bank of Nerdfighteria
第133話The Bank of NerdfighteriaIn which John reports on the state of the Bank of Nerdfighteria, comments on Hank's goatee, and explains just what the Bank of Nerdfighteria is. (Since a couple of people have asked, no, I do not get paid by Kiva. I just think it's an amazing way to help people that almost never ends up costing actual money. Also, the vlogbrothers have never done paid product placement and never will.) - T-Shirt and Jeans - A Song
第134話T-Shirt and Jeans - A SongIn which Hank sings a song about his favorite outfit. I wrote this after a debate with Tom Milsom. A debate which, to be clear, I was not the winner of. I actually think that fashion is a perfectly viable form of communication and that is absolutely an art. So, yeah, I agree with the perspective of the song but not, like, completely. - Top 5 Zombie Apocalypses OF ALL TIME
第135話Top 5 Zombie Apocalypses OF ALL TIMEIn which John counts down his top five favorite zombie apocalypses of all time, from video game zombies to novelistic zombies to vampire zombies to movie zombies to...well, you get the picture. I also talk a bit about the broader eschatological urges of humans. - Top 5 Reasons ████ ██ ██████
第136話Top 5 Reasons ████ ██ ██████By attempting to control the internet, Congress can't help but do anything but screw it up. They want to create a system whereby any website in America could be turned off at a moment's notice. And if they can do it, don't worry, they will. Websites will be so afraid of this new power that they will not wait to be censored, they will censor themselves, stifling the culture of creation that has become so powerful on the internet. Congress will never be able to keep up with the people who want to infringe on copyright, but they will be able to track down and stomp out casual users who want to cover songs, create mashups, GIFs, videos, let's plays, and commentaries. They'll do a great job of scaring legitimate users while missing the real violators, who have enough expertise and free time to get around whatever blocks the government puts in place. It's idiotic...technology has created a new paradigm for content creators. They cannot legislate this technology away, and even if they could they shouldn't. Please contact your senators and representatives, and tell them to vote against the Protect IP and SOPA bills. Tell them that you think copyright law is important, but constricting the freedom of the internet is not the way to do it. - Old Man Narrates Young Girl
第137話Old Man Narrates Young GirlIn which John discusses narrating one version of The Fault in Our Stars audiobook, the unusual and good-hearted conversations with Brilliance Audio that made it possible, how copyright and intellectual property law affected his first novel Looking for Alaska, and why he is so troubled by the SOPA and PROTECT IP bills currently being discussed by the United States congress. - Why are Barns Red and Kardashians Famous
第138話Why are Barns Red and Kardashians FamousAnd 23 other questions answered. The ones I missed were: H: Why are hydrocarbons insoluble in water: Because hydrocarbons are non-polar and water is polar and, y'know, like dissolves like. I: Why are insects attracted to light: This is hard to answer because there are lots of theories but no one is 100% sure. X: Why are X-Rays dangerous? Because they can penetrate deeply into our bodies, and yet still interact with them. So they can potentially knock atoms out of place in your DNA, causing mutations which could cause cancer and other disease. - Chapter TWO of The Fault in Our Stars
第139話Chapter TWO of The Fault in Our StarsIn which John Green's publisher agrees to let him read you the second chapter of his forthcoming book, The Fault in Our Stars. If you want to listen to me read this entire thing (with fewer mistakes), you can order the TFiOS box set: http://dft.ba/tfiosboxset - Honey Badgers: The Crazy Truth
第141話Honey Badgers: The Crazy TruthIn which John digs deep into the insane story of nature's craziest mammal, the honey badger, which has become famous for its fearlessness but should be more widely appreciated for its other gifts, including loose skin, hideous farts, and a reputation baby cheetahs are glad to imitate. Note: If you see a honey badger, which live in Africa and Asia, WATCH OUT. They go straight for the nuts. - F#*%? An Explanation of Curse Words
第142話F#*%? An Explanation of Curse WordsAn introduction to curse words, why they exist, where they come from, how they function, and why they are, in fact, different from other sorts of words. And, yes, I really did say all of those bad words and, with significant detective skills you can probably figure out what it was that I was saying. Sorry for the profanity...it was interesting to scream curse words all day! Also, my facial hair is gone! So all of you hair haters can rejoice, I know The Katherine is. - World's Stupidest Dog
第144話World's Stupidest DogA video about my dog, Lemon, who is a retired racing greyhound, a cuddlebear, a fart face, and a herp-a-derp-apotomus. Katherine and I spent all day yesterday thinking of these: If Lemon were at a 90 degree angle to a wall...she would be DERPENDICULAR! If Lemon violated the first law of thermodynamics, she would be...A DERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE If Lemon were a middle school attack move, she would be a PURPLE DERPLE! Every year on Lemon's birthday, we throw her a DERPRISE PARTY! If Lemon were a professional thief, they would call her... wait for it.... THE DERPETRATOR! That's all we got...but seriously we love her very much and you can find a greyhound adoption agency near you (if you live in America) here http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/directory/list.cfm - Puppies and The Tour de Nerdfighting 2012
第145話Puppies and The Tour de Nerdfighting 2012In which John reveals that he, Hank, the Katherine, and occasionally the Yeti will again be piling into a vehicle and making nerdfighteria IRL in January of 2012 to celebrate the release of The Fault in Our Stars. The tour will visit Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., Raleigh, Atlanta, Birmingham, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, B.C. These gatherings will feature music and readings and the reduction of worldsuck and punishments and hilarity and will generally attempt to make everything nerdfightastic for a while. - Greek Phallic Disco Golf Balls: A Free Association Game
第147話Greek Phallic Disco Golf Balls: A Free Association GameIn which John and Hank play a silly game of word association instead of making a real video. Thank you for all your kind messages of sympathy regarding the loss of our grandfather. Regularly scheduled, better-edited programming will return after the project for awesome. - Sharpie Face and Little Hank: The Project for Awesome's Aftermath
第150話Sharpie Face and Little Hank: The Project for Awesome's AftermathIn which John discusses the 2011 Project for Awesome and shows off some excellent pictures of Hank. Thanks to effyeahnerdfighters, http://www.effyeahnerdfighters.com, for their relentless dedication to making the p4a successful, and thanks also to the brilliant Karen Kavett http://www.youtube.com/xperpetualmotion who designed the p4a site, and Sam Rudge, who made it work. And thanks to everyone who made videos, comment spammed, and donated! * This story, "The War for Banks Island," is unfinished and when it is finished, it will be bad. But unlike Zombicorns, it will not be released under a creative commons license, so only people who buy it will ever get to read it. I'm hoping to finish it around January 20th. - Goats Mating
第154話Goats MatingIn which John witnesses his parents' goats having sex, including all of the weird foreplay that precedes goat sex, like the part where the male goat urinates on his own beard and then rubs it all over the female goat, and then the part where the goat humps in all the wrong places. Basically, it's a Thoughts from Places video about walking around the woods in North Carolina, only I stumbled into...yeah...goats loving goats.
