Anna Torv (aka The Torvinator) completely owns every scene; she’s magnetic, complex, and impossible to look away from. Sam Reid delivers easily one of the most brilliant performances I’ve seen to date — his character’s arc is layered, moving, and beautifully played. Michelle Lim Davidson is fantastic too, and the whole ensemble brings so much authenticity and warmth. What makes this show so special is the writing — sharp and full of heart — and the way it gives every character real depth and purpose. You’re not just watching a newsroom; you’re living alongside these people through every win, loss, and late-night broadcast. Australian TV doesn’t get better than this. If you love great storytelling, top-tier performances, and characters that stay with you long after the credits roll — The Newsreader is a must-watch.
