However, the tension picks up steam very quickly, and the anime improves with every subsequent season—which is no easy feat when you’re already operating at such a high level. The prime example of this is *One-Punch Man*. I originally gave Season 1 five stars as well, but the seasons that followed saw a sharp decline in quality; consequently, I’m going to downgrade that anime from 5 stars to 4. *Oshi no Ko* now takes its place. It is a well-earned and deserved spot, as many series only manage to produce one good season; to maintain high performance—and even improve—across multiple seasons is truly extraordinary. It is difficult to find anything negative to say about this anime; from the animation and story to the character designs and emotional depth, it is easily one of the best things I have ever seen. Add to that the fantastic musical score. Every single song is a banger; the intro from the first season even recently made it into the game *Forza Horizon 6*, where it was featured during the very first race. What 5 stars means to me: I am very strict with my ratings. For me, a "perfect" anime (within its genre) is a 4.5-star, 100% experience; to earn 5 stars, it needs to hit 110%—that little *je ne sais quoi* that pushes it beyond the limits of the standard. It requires the team to go the extra mile to create something truly outstanding. That is exactly what happened here. For this very reason, out of nearly 300 anime I’ve watched, I have rated only five with 5 stars. Everything just comes together perfectly here—quite possibly one of the best anime of our time. Oshi no Ko thus joins my list of 5-star anime, taking its place alongside: Solo Leveling [Action] Attack on Titan [Drama] My Dress-Up Darling [Romance] Your Lie in April [Drama]
- lilllamah2026年5月3日I sat my ass down a Thursday evening, and wanted something light hearted and fun - and was like "Oh right, this is about Idols, music and dancing - that seems like it would be fun" What followed was a one hour long introduction, that left me surprised and in need of closure. Without spoiling, the show is about the entertainment industry, and humanity as a whole - how we need to be entertained, and how our need for said entertainment strains those providing it - how it strains everyone.. actors, musicians, animators, set crew, producers, assistants.. everyone.. And how we as the viewer sometimes pour too much into those involved, and get enraged to the point of screaming at them when they do something we don't want them to - sometimes leading to those we're screaming at, to do even dumber things - like getting uncomfortably close to highways with traffic. It is funny, it's entertaining, it's sad, it's frustrating, it's the biggest bait and switch i've ever watched - and i loved every minute of it. RIP 愛

- BubbleGumSG2026年3月25日Just finished season 3 and boy, that was a good ending, leaving us on a golden cliffhanger setting us up for the last season, season 4. Season 3 is definitely my favorite from the 3. Season 1 was close and season 2 just didn't click with me, but overall still a 5/5 anime until now. Beside the great characters and story, this show teaches us all about show-biz, the ins and outs of the industry and just how dark it can get if you want to reach the top. In the last season, they also showcased the differences between acting overseas and acting in Japan, where the actor's wishes are not really taken into consideration. I absolutely adore when I finish an episode and come out having learned something new. Anyway, this might not be a great review, but more of a appreciation post. If you like dramas, this is 100% the show for you. You will enjoy it very much. 10/10 as of right now
