In a small Welsh town respectable Wyndham Roberts confesses to P.C. Jones that he has killed his blackmailing mistress and shows him the body but when Jones returns with his inspector the corpse has gone and everybody swears that Roberts had an alibi. Jones is pilloried until it becomes evident from Roberts' odd behaviour that he is able to teleport out of his body and be in two places at once.
