ITV Studios was commissioned by The Discovery Channel to film an 8 part series recording life on board HMS Ark Royal, the Royal Navy's flagship aircraft carrier, throughout Operation Auriga a major four-month-long deployment. Although no one knew it at the time, the deployment would turn out to be her final ever international mission â€" and an eventful one at that.
