1964It's been two years since Erik died - Ida hasn't worked at Bella since then. Karin is trapped in sorrow, while Kaj Holger is preoccupied with running Bella. Søs is now tv-producer and a lot of the time away from home, while Palle's carrier is not what he had dreamed.
1965

1965Ida's sons Bo and Henrik, now teenagers, have different interests, not always agreeable with their mother - and Ida realizes it's not only the boys which are behaving silly and inappropriate. Søs does everything she can to make Palle give their marriage a last chance - but it takes drastic measures.
1967

1967Søs and the girls are on vacation in Karin and Kaj Holger's cottage in Tibirke. Palle misses Ida and has to work hard at his new job to implement the banks redevelopment plans. Ida is torn in her relationship with Palle and tumbles with other plans for her future. Henrik is happy for beginning working at Bella, while Bo is preoccupied with different difficult things.

1968Ida is studying danish at the university where the students are rebelling against the professors. In Søs and Palles home the tension is building and one day visitors turn things upside down. Henrik thrives working at Bella, but cross the line when feeling wrongly treated. Bo is a little sad and pushing himself, but then he makes an interesting and new friendship - while Ida revives an old one.

1969While Ida tries to make a new home for herself and the boys at Søren's house, Henrik challenges Kaj Holger to think in new ways. Søs and Palle makes sacrifices to make their marriage work. Bo revives a friendship and gets new knowledge, which not only have consequences for his family, but also makes him make a drastic decision.
