She attended Sacred Heart Canossian School and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fung Wong Fung Ting College.
In 2015, Sharon Chan announced a reduced focus on TV dramas to concentrate on her family and manage a cookie business. In 2017, she returned to acting after giving birth to her son.
In 2014, Sharon Chan married her boyfriend of ten years, William Lui, in Bali. She gave birth to a son in December of 2016.
