- rg94002024年11月1日After a slew of disappointing home invasion movies, I was fairly pleased by You're Next, though anything will shine next to the terrible The Strangers. You get actual intrigue over why these people are being invaded, a large enough cast for interesting and varied kills, clever ways to fight back, and a surprising amount of humor. Honestly, it reminded me of the very fun Ready or Not, though I don't think it fully reaches the heights of that movie. The villains start with a good amount of presence, but the movie quickly shifts to focusing on our badass main protagonist Erin, and I was honestly okay with that. It made for an entertaining watch even if it wasn't what I was expecting, and it leads to some interesting character interactions. My main criticisms would be that the motivation for the villains turns out to be fairly uninteresting, and the ending, while certainly unexpected, left me a bit unsatisfied.
