- Otacon!2026年5月31日Let's face it, I approached this movie as a low budget only national folk movie expecting to be no more than wasted time. Maybe I wasn't in good mood that day. But, after a second view I can confirm my vote. It's not bad, not gold Indeed but it's not bad. You can firmly see the intent and the effort in making it more than just a child tale. It's an ok story with appreciable characters and funny moments that see a potential sequel. And that's why I had seen it a second time just before the sequel watch
- jackmeat2025年10月12日My quick rating - 6.1/10. All I can think of is the excellent Troll Hunter when I saw this Netflix film available, so of course I am going to watch it! The fascination with Trolls in Norway and throughout their mythology is quite interesting. This appears to be a big-budget take on what happens when you screw around with Mother Nature too much and piss off the mountain trolls that live within. They have all borne witness to a 150-foot-tall walking rock with a face destroying shit all over the landscape, YET still won't believe it is a troll LOL. Keep in mind that is an hour in, and we have seen it quite a few times before then. And the good news is, the thing looks very well designed, so kudos to the effects department on this one. I am sure they aren't working with Hollywood-type money, but so far it all looks just fine to me. The story is a mix between the folklore of the trolls' existence and the world being obsessed with expansion at the cost of Mother Nature. This time, while drilling in a mountainous region for corporate purposes, the crew accidentally awakens a giant troll that has been living undetected for years. The troll is definitely the star of the show here, so if you have been missing the giant monsters lately, this one will fit the bill. Unfortunately, all the human characters were so cliché. I know there has to be some leeway given for the dubbing, but that doesn't change the writing. There was a developing story of what the Troll was trying to accomplish when heading towards Oslo, and I think if the writers took more inspiration from the previously mentioned film instead of emulating the 1998 Godzilla, they would've really been onto something. Instead, they took the easy way out and just went for the focus on action and showing off the troll, and ditched the story. Still, I would recommend watching for the entertainment value, but it may fall into the same category of a guilty pleasure, since for the story and characters it is sorely lacking.
- Daniel Gustavsson2024年10月17日Absolutely awful. What where they thinking with this? The movie starts okay, but after a while it just completely falls apart. And it gets worse and worse the further it goes. At some points towards the end my jaw was just on the floor with how bad it was! It was actually kind of shocking how they managed to mess this up so bad.
