It’s a mishmash of a few themes, based on jump-scare tropes, which are somehow supposed to come together by the end. The problem is that, whether it’s the disjointed plot structure, the direction, or perhaps the actors – nothing here moved me. It’s not even worth comparing to When Evil Lurks.

The scares are incredibly effective because they feel earned and grounded in a reality that's just "off." Maximiliano Ghione’s performance as Detective Funes is a standout—his portrayal of pure, palpable terror gives the film its emotional weight. Rugna is officially a director to watch; I can’t wait to see what nightmares he dreams up next
