- ርልዪረ2025年10月10日Plot: Set 25 years after the original Woodsboro murders, a new Ghostface killer emerges, targeting a new generation of teens while some original survivors, including Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley, return to help. The film explores legacy, fame, and the slasher genre’s evolution. Strengths: Blend of Old & New: Balances returning characters with a fresh cast, appealing to longtime fans and newcomers. Meta Commentary: Cleverly references previous films, horror tropes, and modern technology. Suspense & Scares: Maintains jump scares, tension, and creative kills. Strong Performances: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette reprise their roles effectively, adding emotional weight. Weaknesses: Predictable Plot: Familiarity with the franchise makes some twists easier to guess. Safe Choices: Plays it a bit safe, relying on nostalgia rather than fully innovating the formula. Pacing: Some sequences drag, affecting the overall tension. Overall: Scream (2022) is a solid, nostalgic revival that successfully introduces new characters while honoring the original series. It’s entertaining, suspenseful, and a respectful continuation of the Woodsboro saga, though not as groundbreaking as the 1996 original.
- jackmeat2025年8月25日My quick rating - 6.4/10. One of the more hyped horror flix of the year. Streaming on Amazon Prime, click the poster below to check it out if interested. The vast majority of the cast is back for this one, and the flick does a decent job of giving us a reason to have them there. The new cast is dead set on this being a re-quel, so fine, I'll call it just that. We have a whole new cast of victims to be had for a new Ghostface killer. My saying that will most likely invoke your exact response to how likely you are to enjoy this. The movie completely relies on the fact that you have loved all the Scream movies up to now and want the whole idea to continue, regardless of how played out the plot is. Had the movie missed some things in it, such as the gore or the scenery, basically had it not been a really well-put-together movie, I most likely wouldn't have enjoyed it. But it looks really good so the suspension of belief is yet again easy to deal with. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett did a fine job of keeping the eyes on the camera to make the scenes work and whoever was an integral part of the writing crew did put a nice spin into the town of Woodsboro and the events always tying everyone back into the past, even if it was a whole new mystery, again LOL. It has been long enough to be able to bring in the kids of the original victims and killers from 1996 at this point, classic. So being able to weave that aspect along with similar locations, or even the same house from the first, into it was very well done. I will say I expected worse out of this. But now I'll also point out that I wanted better. I cannot bring myself to even push this up a decimal point to round up to 7, since this isn't a 7 horror flick to me. It was just too much of the same and couldn't come up with a nice "holy shit" for who the bad guy was, which was something I really was hoping for. The new cast did hold their own, and I thought Melissa Barrera as Sam and Mikey Madison as Amber stood out in their roles here. There are a ton of references throughout this flick to previous incarnations, and as a tribute to Wes Craven, I think they did his vision justice.
- Kevin Ward2025年7月3日Finished out our family watch of the Scream franchise. I really liked this one, but my kids were a bit softer on it. I appreciated some of the really brutal knife kills. I may be totally wrong, but watching this again, I came away from this feeling like Neve Campbell’s very public exit from the franchise feels like it’s somehow tied into the narrative and setup for the next film/s. (if it’s not, for the record, she definitively deserves to be paid appropriately) I’m definitely looking more forward VI having re-watched the whole franchise again.
- Scott Leffler2026年2月28日The Scream franchise gets more brutal. And I'm here for it. The reboot/requel whatever you want to call it adds more new characters and refreshes once again.
- Bkrueger19762025年11月2日I really enjoyed this entry. Both parts 3, and 4 were such big let downs. This was a total course correction
- ricomckee2025年11月22日An outstanding entry that respects the original movie, premise, and the legacy characters while adding unique twists and turns. It is definitely more brutal and is a rewatchable entry. Great!
- modernv32025年11月1日None of the Scream movies are scary to me, but they are still a lot of fun. This had a solid story. I enjoyed the cast, especially seeing the originals back. Definitely a good homage to Wes Craven’s vision.
- NonPlayableContent2026年1月20日Even on a rewatch i find so little to say positive about. Thankful for new avenues and its still high effort like a deep passion for the franchise is still there but Im not sold.
- LivewireAdmin2025年12月2日We all know Gen Z doesn't talk on the phone, let alone answer a call from an unknown number... Villain reveal in this one is maybe the weakest of the franchise? Overall I enjoyed the new cast though.
- Zokkiie2025年8月12日A slick, bloody return that delivers some great kills and solid tension. The returning cast fits right back in, and the pace keeps things moving. The killer reveal is fine but not exactly shocking, and a few new characters don’t leave much of an impression. Still, a fun slasher worth a watch.
