Sean Baker has nailed down some intimate cinematography that oozes with rich colorful tones throughout and mirrors the optimism and empathy of its well written screenplay.

Does Rex's character learn anything? Do his actions amount to consequences, revelation, insight? Not really. As such the ending is a bit flat and anticlimactic.
