- M08Y2025年7月17日Pride is a heartwarming and uplifing telling of the story of the famous Miners strike and the many groups supporting them, Inparticular, 'Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners'. It's a story of love, hate, prejudice and camaraderie all executed by an excellent cast, every single actor brings something slightly different to the table to complete the lineup of well realised characters. No new ground is broken as far as writing and directing go, this is not an issue however as Pride is not about that. The pacing is fairly breezy and the Welsh accents are very good. In today's climate, a film like this would have almost certainly have become ammunition in some battle over agenda and ideology, but fortunately for us all, 2014 was a simpler time. This is a heart warming story of people doing the best they can with what they have. Can comfortably recommend this film for a rainy day.
