- j.pete62026年3月26日Recession indicator lmao. Unemployed man goes on goofy adventures while battling late stage capitalism.
- MakHayes2026年3月11日Great movie, there were some funny parts woven into the dark theme of late stage capitalism. The kinda movie you could talk about at a bookclub.
- Paul Walsh2026年3月3日Another well-made and shot movie from director Park Chan-Wook. If you enjoy his other movies and macabre sense of humor, you will enjoy this film as well. The story is fairly pedestrian but done with style.
- Desmond Karani2026年3月1日Not bad.
- kieran.charette2026年3月1日Fantastic film, Park Chan wook has done it again. I think decision to leave is a bit better but it's very close.
- Caleb Brian2026年2月23日The Koren's really are the best at "A life destroyed by capitalism" movies and it's not even close
- slopconnoisseur2026年2月23日L detectives
- James Saenz2026年2月20日how in the fuck did park chan-wook shoot some of these sequences?? the shot at the end of multiple characters looking at an ipad screen blew me away how the FUCK did he pull that off??? incredible story about how capitalism and corporate greed incentivize the cannibalism of the lower classes but i’m completely captivated by these PICTURES!!! there’s one shot of man-su superimposed on a shot of ladybugs eviscerating a plant and their munching is cacophonous and my best friend turns to me and says, “that’s a david lynch looking-ass shot” and i started grinning like an idiot.
- carlos.s272026年2月16日Interesting cinematography and really good story
- Buster The Bear2025年12月11日Being unemployed is the best
- russrev1ews2026年2月11日No Other Choice was a lot different than I expected. Felt like the most restrained Park Chan-Wook I’ve seen, and the departure from his norm was very interesting. Very fun cinematography too, though I was a touch bored during the first third.
- LivewireAdmin2026年2月3日Park Chan-wook’s mordantly funny and sharply observed black comedy about the brutal realities of work, dignity, and desperation in the modern age. No Other Choice felt unlike almost anything else released this year. On the surface, it’s a twisted thriller about a man who resorts to violent measures after being laid off — but beneath that darkly comic premise lies one of the most resonant reflections on economic anxiety that cinema has given us. What struck me most — and what my Letterboxd entry failed to capture — is how the film uses its formal audacity to mirror the absurdity of its protagonist’s situation. After decades in the paper industry, Man-su’s identity is so bound up in his work that losing it sets off an avalanche of emotional and ethical collapse. The way Park Chan-wook frames his descent — simultaneously harrowing, hilarious, and quietly pathetic — made No Other Choice one of the year’s most unsettling yet strangely cathartic experiences on screen. And yes, the dissolve transitions are some of the best of the decade. It’s a film that exemplifies much of what 2025 felt like for me: stories that dig at the uncomfortable edges of our lives with both intelligence and heart, refusing to let you look away even when you’re laughing. Whether you see it as satire or as a bleak fable, there’s no denying how deftly it speaks to the year’s themes of insecurity, identity, and the relentless pressure of societal expectations.
- eyeofthetornado2026年1月9日No Other Choice is a dark comedy that critiques harsh capitalism and masculinity by showing how men tie their worth to productivity, only to be discarded by the system. Through bleak, biting humor, it exposes survival, ego, and dignity as transactional, leaving the audience laughing uncomfortably at a world ruled by survival of the fittest. The image of planting trees over dead bodies while attempting to secure work at a paper factory functions as a starkly poetic satire, crystallizing the film’s irony about renewal, exploitation, and the cyclical violence of labor under capitalism
- bgmovie2026年2月3日Awesome movie! Didn't have any idea as to what would happen next, humor was great and surprising. Excellant new fresh story that had surprises around every corner.
