Never underestimate the powers of a demon (an entity that is unhuman and never walked this Earth). The assumption is you're dealing with an entity like Astaroth as he is a deceiver with false knowledge.

He conveys demonic malice with unnerving authenticity. He’s twitchy, intense, and fully committed in a way that sanctifies material that might’ve otherwise felt damned. The story itself doesn’t always land, but watching Flanery possess the role with such conviction is enough to redeem it.
