監督:Richard Donnerある夜、ロサンゼルスの高級アパートメントから売春婦が飛び降り自殺する。LA市警察本部捜査第一課のロジャー・マータフ部長刑事が現場の捜査を始めた矢先に新しい相棒、マーティン・リッグス刑事が異動してくる。リッグスはマータフよりかなり若いがベトナム戦争では陸軍特殊部隊員として死線をくぐりぬけた経験があり、拳銃射撃と格闘の力量は極めて高い。ただ、3年前に愛妻を事故で亡くして以来、自暴自棄になることが多く市警察本部でも問題になっていた。マータフはこの新しい相棒に困惑しながらも自宅に招くなどして次第に打ち解けるようになっていく。そしてリッグスと共に売春婦飛び降り自殺事件を捜査していくと、背景にCIA特殊部隊のOBたちによるヘロイン密輸組織が浮かび上がってくる。

- jackmeat2025年8月21日My quick rating - 7.8/10. Since plex dropped that other action flick into my "Tis the Season" library, why not refresh myself with another classic? Last time I watched this, 1080P wasn't even remotely a thing. This movie redefined the buddy cop movie and solidified Mel Gibson as a top box office star. The chemistry between the two actors is what made this legendary. Not going to get too full-blown since I am sure nearly all have seen this. Still a good one to bust out for the holidays.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have incredible chemistry, and the dynamic between their characters is what really makes the movie shine. The mix of intense action, smart writing, and a little humor is perfect. While some parts feel a bit dated, it’s still packed with great fight scenes and memorable moments. If you’re a fan of 80s action, this is definitely a must-watch.
