- Doc Worm6時間前Boots Riley’d the house down with this one ☝️ 🤓 But for real- Riley is a phenom of a director and one of the few TRULY potent artists out there making these big huge beautiful projects. Insane costuming and wardrobe from Shirley Kurata. Every outfit was a scene stealer. The overall production design is tremendous as well. Lots of great well thought out sets. Bonkers special effects that made this feel like a real life looney tunes episode. Perhaps the pacing and some of the writing isn’t the best but honestly that’s pretty nitpicky. Can’t wait to watch this one again. So many excellent bits throughout that I surely missed some things. I love I love Boosters!

Old white couple left right BEFORE the sex scene. They have no idea what they missed Norma Rae x The Bling Ring x Get Out Music too loud. Advise watching with subtitles for all the jokes! Main theme was exceptional tho Demi Moore better performance than The Substance imo. Hope she doesn’t end up actually being evil like Arnie Hammer in Sorry To Bother You Taylour Paige is forever my love. Will Poulter was fun even in his small part Insane 3rd act turn, maybe wilder than STBY. The cameo of the cop in the tank destroyed me LOVED the monochromatic color schemes Some hilarious EEAAO stuff during the fashion manipulator. I lol’d hard a lot throughout if I’m being honest! MC5 needledrop made me loudly start stinging and gave me hella goosebumps Boots Riley is a modern surrealist master My Trotsky shirt has gotten a little ratty so I wore the cowardICE tee instead. Didn’t necessarily fit the theme but the sentiments are similar - EQUALITY Watched at Warren Regal 21 Currently Ranked #8/79 in 2026 Ranked
- James Saenz2日前i didn’t think i’d get to see kara young in two different films today, but god, am i lucky. boots riley continues to be an auteur that balances absurdist surrealism and magical realism with a self assuredness that doesn’t care to sacrifice vision for conventional filmmaking or the general audience. he has a picture and a story and a message in mind and slaps them all onto the screen for the world to digest. this film is so funny and frenetic and unapologetically riley; even though i prefer sorry to bother you, there’s no denying the charm and electricity in this movie. fuck billionaires, the proletariat’s strength is in community. p.s. after the screening i walked past a group of friends discussing the movie and this one guy said “it was basically a black version of everything, everywhere, all at once” and that was so cringe and misguided and reductive way to describe both the films and the artists behind them.
