- James Saenz2026年4月12日incredible blending of japanese and korean folklore as a way of exploring the lasting effects of japanese imperialism on korean families. the origins of the metaphors are as grotesque and chilling as the spirits in the film, and splicing the structure of the film into chapters allows what would’ve been a seemingly disjointed narrative to feel episodic. it’s not as terrifying as i was expecting, but it trades that for sheer scale and spectacle and i was pleased with that outcome.

It’s the kind of horror that creeps up on you, not just jump scares, but a lingering sense of dread. Easily one of the most memorable horror films I’ve seen in years.
