- eif9992025年2月8日This one is like a strong warm drink on a cold night. All the film noir tropes are here. Shadowy shots of Bogie. Everyone talking in this beat poetry rhythms. Bogie commitment to the overwritten voiceovers. A corny nightclub number by non-singer Scott- back when all b films had to have a song. I especially liked the obvious rear projection of locations like Philly and sped up stock footage to save on budget. Bogie was well past his prime and his WB days but damn if this doesn’t warm me up. Directed by John Cromwell a guy who got the job done.
