Smythe of the town militia, who is boasting of his bravery. Clancy chases him down stairs and makes him change clothes with him, and do a war dance to the consternation of a lady caller, who faints. He finally runs into the arms of the law, and is taken to jail, where he has a chance to reflect on his boisterous conduct.
