- Rob Logan | The Geek Generation2026年3月29日There’s so much I liked about this… the metaphor, the message, and the impeccable performance given by Tom Hanks. That being said, there was something missing in the journey as the time jumps skipped over what I thought would have been some of the most interesting moments. I can understand the choice, as Zemeckis chose economy over detail, but I would have gladly watched another 20-30 minutes to see more of Chuck’s struggle and growth on the island and his first moments being reconnected with civilization.

It also about the human spirit, the deep human need we all have for other people in our lives and also the power of love. Tom Hanks as always is superb and for me this is his finest performance. I could watch this actor forever. Beautiful film and I am so glad it has an uplifting ending.
- Ajay2026年1月25日We're no strangers to Lost-type shows and movies, but Cast Away definitely is among the top players. Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt are wonderful in this movie, and Hanks' ability to transform into a true lone survivor is remarkable. The writing is really well done, with some of the really tough emotional and mental wrangling that Chuck Noland has to deal with subtley conveyed - which in my opinion, makes for a larger impact than just showing the traumatic events to us. The biggest issue I've got is the latter half. Without spoiling it for anyone, it fails to convey the aftermath and how that would affect Chuck. It feels like the time that's elapsed means nothing, and was merely a conduit to the end - in which case, why even have the majority of the film be about it? It does take away a lot from the ending, but isn't detrimental enough to not warrant a watch.
