Movies like this scores will continue to move up and up gradually over the years as films of it's type become more and more rare and appreciated. Johnny and Penelope in both their best roles of their lives IMHFO. 9.1/10

Johnny Depp plays George with quiet charm and growing despair, making his fall from grace hit even harder. Fred Jung’s line sums it all up: “When you’re up, it’s never as good as it seems. When you’re down, you never think you’ll be back up again. But life goes on.” Like Mark Wahlberg’s Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights, George chases a bigger life, rides the high until it burns him, and ends up with nothing but memories of when it all seemed perfect.
