What really fascinates me about this movie is that, while it is centered around a couple and it involves time travel, it is neither a romantic comedy or a sci-fi flick. Unless you're an absolute sociopath, you will laugh a lot. And cry A LOT. At its core, this isn't a film about time travel, it's about love in its many forms and about learning to live with the consequences of our choices. The ability to revisit the past may sound like a blessing, but Curtis uses it to show that life's beauty lies in its imperfections, in the moments we can't edit or undo. The message is simple and deeply resonant: you can't carry the past with you every step, you have to live forward. The relationship between father and son is the emotional anchor, it's tender, understated, and beautifully played. Bill Nighy and Domhnall Gleeson share a warmth that feels utterly real, full of quiet affection and unspoken understanding.
