Ein weiterer Zeuge meldet sich - Petzold, ein gediegener Banker. Aber es stellt sich schnell heraus, dass er mehr Interesse an der Kommissarin Charlotte Sänger hat, als wirklich etwas zur Aufklärung des Falls beitragen zu können. Amtsleiter Fromm ist davon nicht sehr erbaut. Einzig Dellwo schaut sich Petzold genauer an und stößt dabei auf Unstimmigkeiten. Doch Sänger ist dem Bösen schon zu nahe gekommen.
