The Trouble with CharlieHackett bumps into ex-girlfriend Trish Walker, at the airport. She is carrying £12,000 of cocaine for Scott Taylor. While out, with Hackett, Taylor's drug deal goes wrong and an innocent man is killed. Hackett is brought to investigate.

Figures of ImportanceHackett's ex-fiancée Gemma Maskell rings him out of the blue. He's unaware that her husband is threatening her life if she doesn't return to London. The following day, she is dragged from the river, strangled to death.
The Run

The RunA courier arriving from Frankfurt is mugged. He has on him a sample case with pure gold moldings. Hackett believes Billy Jarvis is smuggling gold and using his porn empire has a front. He is certain Jarvis is paying for heroin with gold.
