Special agent of military intelligence Bekeshev, performing another secret mission, accidentally eliminates the leader of a combat group in the Middle East, as a result of which he provokes an international crisis and is sent to early retirement. After several days of alcohol therapy, Bekeshev realizes that he needs a guide to a new life, and is looking for his old colleague Anatolich, who has long retired and lives in a secluded country house with his wife Sveta, also a former intelligence agent.
