- Doc Worm25 maggio 2026There’s some great action and John Berenthal really lives in the role. Great argument to say that he is the definitive on screen punisher. In the first season, the dynamic between him and Micro is dynamite. Definitely the highlight of that season. First season was pretty solid but kind of a slog to get through. A lot of these marvel/Netflix soap dramas really lean on the writing and I found it pretty uninspiring throughout the whole series. But it has its moments. Second season starts out super strong and the first 3-4 episodes really had me wondering where it was gonna go next! Seeing Frank as the stranger in town was AWESOME to see. Unfortunately after that it turns into a total mess. Again, it has its moments, especially in its action but overall just not great. While I don’t feel watching this show was totally time wasted, I do feel it’s one of the weaker outings and felt overall disappointed. A few truly great episodes here or there overall narratively pretty muddy.

This show isn't just entertainment; it's a masterclass in efficient problem-solving. Frank Castle is the only guy in America who looks at a corrupt politician, a shady judge, or a dirty cop and doesn't think, "Gee, I should really draft a strongly worded letter to the editor." He thinks, "What is the most direct and permanent solution to this issue?" And friends, the answer is almost always a creatively applied high-velocity bullet. This show is a therapeutic fantasy for anyone who has ever been stuck in traffic, paid a parking ticket, or seen a white-collar criminal get a slap on the wrist. It's the cathartic release of watching karma be administered not by the universe, but by a very large, very angry man with a seemingly endless supply of ammunition and a deep, philosophical opposition to plea deals. It's not violent. It's proactive. It's not revenge. It's auditing. Five stars. Would recommend to any frustrated taxpayer. The only thing it's missing is a toll-free number to send Frank suggestions.

I was already a fan of Daredevil, and Jon Bernthal’s introduction as Frank Castle was so intense, so raw, that giving him his own show felt inevitable. But I still wasn’t prepared for how good it would be. I’ve seen the Punisher portrayed in several movies over the years, and only one ever came close to capturing the brutality, trauma, and moral complexity the character is known for. Most versions softened him or misunderstood him. This series finally got him right. Bernthal brings a terrifying physicality and a heartbreaking emotional depth to Frank Castle, making him the antihero he was always meant to be—violent, damaged, but driven by a twisted sense of justice. The show doesn’t glorify the violence; it shows its cost, for Frank and everyone around him. The Punisher blew me away. It’s the definitive live-action version, long overdue and brilliantly executed.
