Kaza - A Mega Park For Elephants

30 luglio 2007    43minDocumentario
Elephants have become scarce due to illegal hunting. Perhaps some pachyderms from Zimbabwe and Botswana will find a new home here. In order to determine their ideal location, the Botswana scientist Michael Chase follows the migratory movements of the elephants via satellite. In December 2006, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe signed the Kaza Treaty, laying the foundation for one of the continent's most ambitious nature conservation projects. So that the wild animals can move over great distances and have more food sources available, corridors are created between different national parks. The project can rely on strong financial support from Europe, the German Development Ministry alone is supporting it with a double-digit million amount. Kaza is a hope for Africa.
