In Denmark, you cannot end up in prison if you have a disability - no matter what crime you have committed. Instead, they are sentenced to treatment at special institutions. Journalist Kristian Almblad visits the Kofoedsminde facility and meets some of those incarcerated there.

On the looseJubas must go to court, where a judge must assess whether he is ready to have his sentence reduced. After 7 years at Kofoedsminde, Jan HC will move to an open residence in Randers. 26-year-old Zacharias has been behind bars since he was 19, on the harshest type of sentence you can get, and his mother Heidi is fighting to get his sentence changed.
