2 January 2008Liam's searching the internet for a holiday for him and Maria. Maria suggests the Lake District so they can take Ozzy. After some persuasion Liam agrees. Jim waits for Steve in the cab office. Both Jim and Lloyd are shocked to hear that Liz and Vernon actually got married - they thought Liz had cancelled. Jim begs Steve to forgive him for thumping Vernon and Bob Castle and to let him still see Amy but Steve's had enough of his dad and tells him he's no longer part of the family. Carla sees Maria packing the car up and takes the mickey when she finds out they're only going to the Lakes. Maria's annoyed. As Liz and Vernon prepare to leave for their honeymoon in Nashville, Lloyd lets slip that Liz cancelled the wedding and then changed her mind. Vernon's devastated. Steve persuades Vernon to give Liz another chance. Liz tells Vernon she now realises how much she loves and respects him. Vernon forgives her and they leave for their honeymoon. Steve's relieved to see the back of them. While Liam and Maria drive up to the Lakes, Carla phones them. She winds them up about their down-market holiday. Liam's amused but Maria's sick of her and cuts her off. Liam promises not to mention Carla's name again while they're away. 18 January 2008 Ep 1Michelle's beside herself with worry wondering where Ryan's got to. Roger's unhappy that Janice has promised Wiki she can hold a knicker party in their flat without even consulting him. Carla and Liam call in the Rovers to see if there's any news of Ryan. Maria clocks them as they leave the pub together and is immediately jealous. Jack and Vera take a trip to Blackpool to visit their new house. Tina calls in the salon and David introduces her to Audrey and Maria. Audrey's put out when Tina says the smell in the salon makes her feel sick. The factory girls look forward to Wiki's knicker party apart from Sally who says she's got better things to do. The police call to see Michelle to get Ryan's details. David fills Tina in on a bit of family history including Richard Hillman. Jack and Vera arrive back from Blackpool. Vera heads home feeling tired, while Jack goes to the Rovers for a quick pint. Carla persuades Liam to attend a trade fair with her. She books the hotel and accidentally books a double room. She's secretly pleased at her mistake. Michelle sets off to looks for Ryan. Upon his return from the Rovers, Jack goes to wake Vera but is shocked to discover she has passed away in the chair. - 18 January 2008 Ep 2E13
18 January 2008 Ep 2Jack sits next to Vera and sings to her unable to come to terms with her death. Michelle and Steve search in vain for Ryan. Nick promises to phone if he turns up at his house. David and Tina share a kiss and head upstairs as Gail arrives home. In a state of shock Jack quietly breaks the news to Molly and Tyrone in the backyard of No.9. Molly phones an ambulance and Tyrone goes to find Paul. Wiki's knicker party takes place. Roger calls in but quickly leaves when the girls suggest he could model the underwear for them. A crowd has gathered outside No.9 and Jack breaks the news that Vera's died. The paramedics take Vera out to the ambulance. Maria tells Liam she's arranged for them to go and look at a wedding venue at the weekend. She's put out when Liam tells her he's going to a trade fair with Carla and she'll have to postpone the appointment. Carla can see Maria's worried. Jack goes outside, talking to the pigeons in the yard, and breaks down. - 28 January 2008 Ep 1E19
28 January 2008 Ep 1Jack's worried he'll have to make a speech at Vera's funeral. David sets off for his court hearing with Gail and Tina in support. Liam insists the reason he returned from Birmingham early was because he was missing Maria. Maria's pleased. Liam and Carla return to the factory. They're both slightly awkward with each other. Michelle admits to Steve she wants to know if Alex is okay now he knows Wendy isn't his biological mother. Tony suggests to Carla that she and Liam were looking rather cosy when he turned up at the hotel. Carla's dismissive and the bedroom booking was just a mix-up. Terry lets himself into No.9. Jack's pleased to see him while Paul's uncomfortable. Terry doesn't recognise his own son and Paul has to be introduced. David returns from court having been given a £300 fine and point on his licence as and when he gets one. Vera's funeral takes place at the crematorium. Jack gets to his feet to say a few words but has to clutch the lectern for support. Tyrone and Molly are worried he's going to collapse but Jack's determined to pay his respects. - 28 January 2008 Ep 2E20
28 January 2008 Ep 2Jack makes a lovely speech about Vera at the funeral. Everybody's moved. Terry tells Jack he must hang on to No.9 and mustn't sell it to Tyrone and Molly. Terry's reasons are purely selfish but Jack can see straight through him. Darryl goes chasing after Lauren but Lauren's more interested in talking to her friends. Darryl's disappointed whilst Mel despairs. Carla enjoys telling Maria that the only reason Liam returned early from Birmingham was because Tony turned up as a surprise. Maria's gutted. Terry and Paul are forced to chat to each other but the conversation is stultified. Nick and Wendy turn up at the Rovers separately. Nick tells Michelle that Alex has moved in with him as he doesn't like Wendy's boyfriend. Nick gives Michelle a letter for Ryan. Wendy tells Michelle that Alex doesn't want to see her even though she's his biological mother. Michelle tells them Ryan feels the same about them. Liam manages to calm Maria down telling her how much he loves her. He assures her there's nothing going on between him and Carla. Jack tells Tyrone, Molly and Paul how they're his family now and he's not going to take any notice of Terry. Lauren calls to see Darryl and apologises for ignoring him. Darry's won over whilst Mel is more sceptical. Jack sits and looks at a photo of him and Vera and is overcome with emotion. - 11th February 2008E29
11th February 2008Liam is bemused. Audrey tells Maria she owes it to him to at least talk and heads into the hotel to tell everyone there's a slight hitch. Carla pulls Fiz to one side desperate to know what's going on. Maria brings up Liam calling out Carla when he had the accident, but realises Liam already knows about it from Carla, fuelling her suspicions even more. Liam has nearly won her back round when Carla texts saying "Don't make the biggest mistake of your life. I want you". Maria throws the phone and runs off. Carla stands outside the hotel. Liam catches up with her and admits he loves her. Maria comes round. The ceremony commences and Maria walks down the aisle, glancing at Carla, upset. At the reception, Liam begins a speech about how much he loves Maria. A teary Carla makes for the toilets. Maria and Carla row in the toilet. Maria slaps Carla. Ryan delivers his speech, but Alex enters the room. Michelle drags Alex outside. Helen and Barry are trying to perk up a flustered Ryan, Michelle joins, but Alex follows trying to introduce himself to his real grandparents. Helen and Barry are confused but Steve leads him away. Michelle passes him off as 'troubled'. She puts Alex in a cab with Lloyd, then decides to get in with him just as Ryan comes upon the scene. Liam steps in to look after Ryan while she's gone. Maria throws the bouquet and it hits Carla. There's a scrabble and Sean gets it. Liam and Maria stumble into their room kissing while Carla is outside the hotel, upset. - 20th August 2008E164
20th August 2008As Jed lies in hospital, Tony has his house emptied and boarded up. The residents attend the opening of the Victoria Court apartment block. Pam and Molly try desperately to acquire the last jar of pickle. Chesney is disgruntled to find Fiz on good terms with John.
