The first night is tough: sub-zero temperatures, thin sleeping bags and no fire. The work on the plane causes tension within the group. After resolving the conflict, Joey continues to expand Hugo's bed, whereupon Hugo thanks him with a carved gift. While the group speculates about the next radio message, Joe prepares a first dinner for his comrades-in-arms.
