It’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, and I’ve definitely seen worse, but it’s just not that good. I liked Jean’s journey and finding out what actually happened with her childhood, and I liked how Charles’s mistakes played into everything. The whole Phoenix situation was interesting too, but I feel like the movie could’ve done a lot more with it. After everything I watched in this franchise, this just didn’t feel like the strongest way to end the main X-Men run. Not terrible, just definitely not one of my favorites. 6/10

The Dark Phoenix story has always had a lot of potential, but this version never really captures the emotional weight or the scale it should have. Sophie Turner does what she can with the role, and there are a few good moments, but the movie feels like it’s missing something. The action is decent and there are some cool visuals, but the story feels rushed and a lot of the characters don’t get much to do. It’s not the worst superhero movie out there, but after everything this series built up to, it ends up feeling pretty underwhelming. A missed opportunity for what should’ve been a much bigger moment.
