Diretto da Jan de BontJo Harding, una cacciatrice di tornado, si lancia insieme all'ex-marito Bill, meteorologo, e a una strampalata squadra di storm-chasers (cacciatori di tempeste) in un grande progetto: immettere all'interno di un tornado (in inglese detto anche twister) uno speciale strumento scientifico che permetterà di ricavare tutte le informazioni necessarie per costruire un piano di emergenza al verificarsi di tali violenti fenomeni. Nel film si susseguono tornado sempre più forti e i primi tentativi di Bill e Jo falliscono. Alla fine riusciranno a far funzionare il loro strumento all'interno di un devastante tornado di categoria F5.

Had been trying to get my kids to watch this for weeks, but none of them seemed interested in the slightest and were very skeptical after the watching the trailer following it up with their usual “What year was it made?” question because they know it never fails to make me feel very old. As I expected, they enjoyed it. It’s a brilliantly paced actioner that really is kind of an overlooked blockbuster from the past.

With a plot that can be terrifying, electrifying, hilarious, and touching all at once, a hot cast of talent, special effects that live up even to today's standards ( 30 years later ), and a magnificent crew along with flawless direction, this movie had it and still has got it all.... period.

- Danny B13 agosto 2025Twister is the original and still the undefeated champ. Hunt, Hoffman, Paxton, and Ruck all deliver great performances, and the whole thing has a gloomy, dangerous atmosphere that pulls you in. It’s tense, exciting, and still holds up today.
