- Darren Webster13 gennaio 2026I went into this expecting something really cheesy, possibly over done with terrible special effects and sub par acting. And, mostly I was right. It's ridiculously cheesy. The special effects are straight out of an early 2000's SyFu Friday night movie. The acting was pretty damn good, if not over the top. But you know what? It was an absolue blast beginning to end. All I can say is I wish I had an Apple for my best friend. See you out there Turbo Kid!

What really elevates Turbo Kid is its heart. Beneath the blood and synths is a genuine coming-of-age story about heroism, friendship, and choosing to do the right thing even when the world is broken. The performances are perfectly tuned to the tone, with charm, sincerity, and just the right amount of unhinged villainy. Add in a killer synthwave soundtrack that slaps from beginning to end, and you’ve got a cult classic that earns every bit of its status.
