- Zokkiie7 luglio 2026This is one of those movies that's way more entertaining than it probably deserves to be. The acting is pretty subpar, and it plays fast and loose with history to the point where it's wrong about almost everything. The dialogue is hit or miss, and a lot of the characters feel pretty flat. On the plus side, the castles, armor, and medieval setting look good, and there are enough action scenes to keep things moving. It never really lives up to its cool premise, which is probably the biggest disappointment. A better script and stronger performances could've made this so much more. Instead, it's just a dumb but watchable adventure that somehow stays fun even when it's falling apart. Definitely not a movie I'd call good, but I can't say I was bored either.
- axebox22 luglio 2025Solid scifi historical fantasy. The movie doesn't have too many plot holes beyond the time travel concept. It's a unique take on the genre, from the dependable Michael Crichton. The large cast play very well together, and the set pieces are all very creative and exciting. Surprisingly, the soundtrack is excellent. There's some truly beautiful stuff in this movie, even though it's built on a shaky 1st act that speeds through a lot of the intricate setup. As well, missing is the cultural differences from the book (such as language and strength differences) which lowers the impact of how scary it was for the characters to face these medieval superhumans. As well, the book has a nasty and poignant end for a character that the movie decides to do something of a lesser quality. Beyond that the plot moves quick, no scene outlasts it's welcome and there are several cool plot twists. Fans of all the creative cast and crew should not miss this.

Un gruppo di giovani archeologi ritrova alcuni reperti, tra cui una pergamena con una richiesta d'aiuto incredibilmente firmata dal professor Edward Johnston, direttore degli scavi, e datata 1357. In seguito il gruppo di archeologi, formato da Chris, il figlio del professore, Andrè Marek, Josh Stern, François Dontelle e Kate Ericson, viene contattato da un'agenzia di ricerca chiamata ITC, il cui presidente, Robert Doniger, li informa che il professore è stato inviato nel medioevo con una speciale macchina di teletrasporto che ha involontariamente aperto un passaggio temporale tra il 1357 e il presente e che non ha fatto ancora ritorno. Josh si rifiuta di andare nella macchina del tempo, così il gruppo di archeologi, assieme a tre membri della ITC (Frank Gordon, Gomez e Zepalé), viene inviato nel XIV secolo alla ricerca di Johnston, ma i duri anni di quell'epoca e il danneggiamento della macchina del tempo renderanno la loro missione molto difficoltosa e piena di imprevisti.
