- ርልዪረ14 settembre 2025This movie is a good sequel to the awesome Chinatown but of course, not as good. Jack Nicholson again is a private investigator in the early days of LA, 1948. I like this type of slow, steady, old fashioned, attention to detail mystery. The storyline is heavy and you have to pay careful attention to keep track of what's going on and that's how its supposed to be. I always love Harvey Keitel and hes especially good in this movie as the other Jake. I find the setting and the period cars and clothes, even the furniture and office buildings back then fascinating. It's well acted and directed, its interesting how Jake gets pulled into these complicated issues when it seems like a simple case on the surface. I would recommend seeing this but I dont think it's that necessary to see Chinatown first, they stand alone. I think you have to like this type of movie to follow it. Jack Nicholson directed it and he did a great job starring in it also. Good supporting cast, too.
