- MrTrivet22 settembre 2025It turned out better than I expected. A solid prequel to the 1982 classic, it tries to creatively expand the lore established in the original. From my perspective, those were huge shoes to fill - I love the original - but in many moments, I could still feel the same icy, claustrophobic, and unsettling atmosphere. The acting is strong; the cast brings to life characters that really draw you into the dark world of the Antarctic station. The CGI effects are fine and work, but they lack the brutal, grotesque quality that the practical effects in the original had, which was probably my biggest expectation. I don’t want to sound like I’m whining that things were better before, but those kinds of effects just aren’t made anymore. Overall, the film maintains a consistent, dark mood and delivers several genuinely effective moments of horror. While it doesn’t match the original classic, I consider it worth watching - especially if you want to see how the story of such an iconic horror can be creatively expanded.

It’s not scary, it’s not stylish and it is just not interesting. The only things worthy of watching are the call-outs to Carpenter’s masterpiece.
- Zokkiie30 settembre 2025It isn’t bad at all — it’s got some tense moments, solid atmosphere, and cool practical/CGI mix, even if the CGI hasn’t aged perfectly. It doesn’t hit the same heights as its predecessor, but it works as a creepy little monster flick in its own right. Honestly feels underrated for what it is.

La paleontologa Kate Lloyd raggiunge un team di scienziati norvegesi i quali hanno trovato, nascosta tra i ghiacci, una base sotterranea di origine sconosciuta e, poco distante, il corpo di un alieno conservato dal gelo. Una volta trasportato alla base il corpo si rianima e gli umani scoprono ben presto che la terrificante creatura è in grado di prendere possesso dei corpi dei terrestri mantenendone le sembianze e infiltrandosi quindi nel gruppo.
