A man is haunted by visions of a beautiful woman. When he finally meets her, he winds up involved in a Satanic cult.
- Charles Ynfante24 settembre 2025The Devil's Hand. (1961). This movie takes place in a modern busy city, not a jungle. The characters, as interpreted by the actors (and maybe the director), are calm, subdued, and under-played. There are no histrionics, no over-acting, and nothing loud. The major feeling is "mellow. " This is not a bad thing. The theme music at the start of the movie was strange --- like surfer music or teenager pop music of the time. I say strange because I was expecfing a devil story not something light-hearted that the music seemed to intend. The theme played again 40 minutes into the movie. However, the overall soundtrack had a rhythmic-jungle -jazz-tinge to it, with beats of contemporary music of the time. Some characters were harmed or killed because rhey had pins pressed into their voo-doo dolls. Nothing too intense. There are a couple of quick scenes of parked white convertibles and I wish I had one of those! The main two female actors were of Mexican descent. The main female actor, Linda Christian, was the first James Bond girl. She appeared in a 1954 television adaptation of the James Bond novel, "Casino Royale". An intersting movie because of its deliberate and almost relaxing pacing. Review by Charles Ynfante.
